Oxfordshire Homeless Movement

Submitted by Yvonne Pinner on

A group of seven year five and six pupils from Cutteslowe Primary School have been busy folding thousands of origami frogs in a fundraiser for OHM and Cancer Research UK, attempting to beat the world record for the largest display of origami frogs.

On the 19th June OHM's Project Director, Yvonne Pinner, was honoured to attend their final display and the count, which totalled a whopping 4,554 frogs, beating the previous record by over 1,000 frogs! At the display, Yvonne met with the lovely pupils who came up with the fundraising idea, and also met the Shaz and Lucy who are local volunteer funderaisers for CRUK. Yvonne said that "seeing them filling that enormous hall really did make me appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this and when the total was announced - I could see just how much it meant to the pupils".

The total amounts raised so far are £500 for Cancer Research UK, and an incredible £630 for OHM. We are so grateful to the pupils (staff and parents too!) for all the work they put into this. The funds donated will go to good use in our project work helping people experiencing homelessness locally.

We want to offer a huge thank you to the pupils and staff of Cutteslowe Primary School for their dedication and generosity throughout this fundraiser, and of course a big congratulations on setting the new Guinness World Record - what an amazing achievement!
