Oxfordshire's Homeless Sector Gets Big Online Win

Oxfordshire Homeless Movement—OHM—has achieved its biggest and best update of online information since 2018. 97 percent of OHM partners have updated their information for 2024/25.
The homeless sector in Oxfordshire includes over 90 projects. These are mainly a mix of statutory providers, local charities, and community groups. Every year OHM asks all projects for an update. This year’s high response level means OHM’s website offers the most detailed and current image of the sector yet—online, or elsewhere.
This better picture
- helps people find what they need for themselves
- gives quick references for caseworkers and other professionals
- helps front-line workers direct individuals to specific resources
- helps strategists identify and fix gaps
The database is edited and enhanced throughout the year. Sharing one central online resource for information avoids the problem of reliance on out-of-date print materials.
New sections have been added for
- young homeless people with help from partner Response
- those facing abuse with help from partner OSARCC
A section on provision for women will be published soon.
Projects and groups in the homeless sector get a boost in visibility through being on the website, and the online signposting they receive can be very meaningful. The OHM site has very specific aims.
OHM amplify their partner's work through active social media, too; and major campaigns like the October #CEOSleepout mean the homelessness issue gets more noticed.
All of this helps those in need and those who want to help. OHM's directory is a central, valuable resource for the local homeless sector. It helps ensure the right information can reach the right people.
